Girl Scout Cookies Are Gifts

We’re back and we missed ya’ll more than a little bit. Shells finally ended a tense relationship with a family of squirrels, and Irene conquered her taxes and offers a friendly gym etiquette PSA.

Around the water cooler, we acknowledge Trump’s bizarre and consistent primary winning streak, the “mystery” surrounding Marshawn Lynch’s “retirement”, Shells shares her enjoyment of a variety of quality television (emphasis on variety) and Irene gives her review of The Life of Pablo (Y’all knew it was coming). We round out the notes around the water cooler with the awesomeness that is Girl Scout Cookie season! *yummy*

Our Would You Rather answers go exactly like you’d expect, with the addition of an unexpected pet peeve of Shells’. But back to the segment, would you rather sing every word you speak or always speak in rhymes? Hit us on Twitter, IG,and Facebook or on our talk back line at 202-780-5FSG! @FSGPodcast #FSGWYR

Then we reflect on some of the major public statements supporting the present day Civil Rights/Social Justice/Black Lives Matter Movement. These voices included Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, and recently Mark Zuckerberg. In our opinion, this has been one of the best, blackest, and loudest Black History Month’s we can recall.

It should come as no surprise that a record from Kanye’s new project is in Irene’s Beats this week. And in the spirit of Black History Month, Shells’ eye spy inspiration is a poem honoring black women.

That’s it for this week. Remember, we love hearing from you, so hit us on social media (Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook) or on our talk back line (202-780-5FSG).

We’ll see you next week… until then, Listen – Laugh – Share!

Shut Up, Forever…Lover.

Welcome Back. 🙂

This week, Shells had a special moment with Cole and her work from home mom life, while Irene’s highlight was snagging amazing seats for the Beyoncè Formation Tour. And many people are in the early days of Lent, so we chat (…and judged) just a bit about some of our sacrifices.

Around the FSG water cooler, we talk about President Obama’s visit to @TheEllenShow, Kanye West’s “interesting” album listening party and Fashion Show, Cam Newton’s lesson in emotional management following his Super Bowl loss, and the conflicting public reaction to Beyonce’s  Formation video and Super Bowl performance. It’s just a few topics…but SO much to discuss.

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day weekend, we consider the tough choice between being loved or being loving. So which would you rather: love and not be loved back or be loved but never love in return? We want to hear from you! Hit us up on Twitter and Instagram-@FSGPodcast #FSGWYR  or call into the talk back line @ (202) 780-5FSG.

We follow up our #FSGWYR convo with a talk about what love is and if “Happily Ever After” really exists. So many of us hope for love and relationships, but there seems to be so much evidence that true love is pretty elusive. So what’s really going on? We share our thoughts on the matter, and then wrap the show up with one of the most beautiful love songs of modern day in Irene’s Beats and Shells shares a quote about loving while you can.

We hope your weekend was good to you…and know that Irene and Shells LOVE you!

Remember you can it us up on our new Talk Back Line 202-780-5FSG(374) or shoot us an email at info@fsgpodcast.com

We’ll see you next week!

Irene and Shells

(Recorded Feb 12, 2016)

BHM – Say It Loud! (Featuring Dr. Kimberly Brown)

Hey Ya’ll, we’re so happy to be back with you good people! Shells shares a little about her professional growth as a Certified Professional Coach and Irene continues to push herself in her health and fitness journey. And we’re both looking forward to support Cam Newton during Super Bowl 50.

Around the water cooler, we discuss the the failed attempted assassination of an Australian woman at the hands of her husband; American Crime Story: The People vs O.J. Simpson; our girl Ellen had some fun with Rihanna and also interviewed Marley Dias who is the creator of the #1000BlackGirlBooks  campaign; Then we wrap up the water cooler notes with the last Democratic Debate- Hilary and Bernie are throwin’ bows!

For this week’s Would You Rather consideration, would you rather have to shave off one eyebrow or deal with an allergic reaction on your undercarriage? (Where do we get this mess from?!?)  What say you? #FSGWYR @FSGPodcast on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

And then, we have the esteemed pleasure of sharing our “Let’s Talk About It” segment with the Dr. Kimberly Brown- professor, author, speaker, and our go-to Black History expert. Dr. Brown shares a wealth of knowledge with us about the origination of Black History, the validity of “Stay Woke”, the ways we can impart black history onto our children, amongst other things. We are honored to have Dr. Brown with us and so proud of our conversation with her!

We wrap up the show with a gospel track in Irene’s Beats that seemed most appropriate following up our time with Dr. Brown…who IS our eye spy inspiration this week!

Ya’ll stay inspired and intentional … and we’ll see you next week!

Listen – Laugh – Share!

SPECIAL EDITION: Beyonce’ SLAYS!!!

It’s a special edition of FSG thanks to the Queen Bey, herself. She dropped a new record…and the world imploded. We’re here for it and spend a couple minutes processing our reactions to this song and the video. ENJOY!

oh…and we want to hear what YOU think about Beyonce’s Formation. Call us at 202-708-5FSG!

Yeezy be Tweetin’

Alright, alright, alriiiiggghhhhtttttt…we’re back with another great episode. and while we’ve been away, Shells enjoyed a relaxing one-night vacation with her friends, Donna & Mary. Meanwhile, Irene survived “The Blizzard of 2016” with an epic snow jump and no white bread…yeah…

We haven’t mentioned anything about the historic Powerball jackpot since we lost…but our girl, Ellen, had one of the winners on the show last week. The couple from Mumford, TN dropped by to talk about their life since winning and picked up a “winners gift” from Ellen.

Around the water cooler, we talk about Cam Newton and the historic nature of his upcoming Super Bowl run; the Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna “love story”, Trump vs Meagan Kelly vs Fox vs The Republican Debate, and the growing concerns of the Zika virus.

In the world of Would You Rather, we consider just how overrated “adulting” really is. So would you rather be a child your entire life or an adult your entire life? Hit us up on Facebook, IG or Twitter @FSGPodcast and #FSGWYR.

Then we spend some time talking about Kanye’s recent social media melt-down triggered by Wiz Khalifa’s questioning Ye’s newly renamed album. The exchange (if you want to call it that) was memorable, entertaining, and tragic all at the same damn time.

We wrap this week’s foolishness up with a new joint from Rihanna in Irene’s Beats and a quote about checking your Ego for Eye Spy Inspiration.

We hope you enjoy the show as much as we do and we’ll see you next week!

Listen – Laugh – Share,

Irene & Shells
