Shout Out to 2015!!
Welcome…to the last episode of 2015. 🙂
We have ABSOLUTELY loved riding with you all this year. Thanks for being here for our weekly shenanigans. Believe it not, you’ve become a part of a dream come true an we’ve only getting started!
As for this episode description, we’re going to present it like a pretty little present with a bow on top…
… It’s the final countdown for Christmas and we’re still getting ready.*yikes*
… Ellen kept on giving stuff away. This week’s guests included Tina Fey, Lupita Nyongo, and Uzo Aduba. Uzo shared a testimony about how what is for YOU is for YOU.
…Would You Rather be known for being loyal or being kind. We’re listening: @fsgpodcast #FSGWYR
…Around the water cooler, there was a mistrial in the Freddie Gray trial for one officer, the Republicans debated again, there was a bomb threat against LA & NY schools, the Rio Olympics experience is not looking good, and when the Sam’s Club CEO talked diversity is called a racist.
…’Tis the season to talk about holiday traditions, superstitions, and a little reflection of 2015 and hopes for 2016. So that’s what’s we did.
And the BOW ON TOP is our Plug of the Week! Your hosts are also authors!!! We contributed to a collaborative book, HerStory: Heartache, Happiness and the Hiccups Along the Way and we are so happy to share it with you all! It’s a beautiful collection of true tales of heartache, triumph, imperfections, joys, sorrows, and the lessons learned from the unique experience of twenty-nine women. Check out the website, follow HerStory on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, and it’s also available on Amazon!Â
… Irene’s Beats are filled with holiday joy and happiness.
… And the final Eye Spy Inspiration is a Shells Original! 🙂
Love ya’ll … have an fun filled, safe, happy holiday and we’ll see ya’ll next year!!
Shoutout to 2015,
Irene & Shells
…
What Holiday Party?
Hey ya’ll. Even though we’ve done a lot of talking about shopping over the last few weeks, Irene hasn’t started yet… HOWEVER, the time has arrived for Irene to get her new J’s. FaLaLaLaLa! Shells has started shopping (a little) and developing her 2016 resolutions, with the help of her honest son.
Not a whole lot of Ellen updates, in part because of repeated interruptions of “breaking” news *insert side eye*.12 Days of Giveaways wrapped up last week…we didn’t win… but we’re curious to see Monday’s show because what does Ellen do the first show after nearly 2 weeks of HUGE gift giving?!?!
In Would You Rather foolishness, we debate popularity versus intelligence. Irene’s typical “clarifying questions” damn near ruined this one for Shells. So, would you rather be the smartest person or the most popular person at work and/or school? What’s your answer? We’re listening @FSGPodcast on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. #FSGWYR
This week, our water cooler news includes the atrocity named Abigail Fisher, MSNBC’s horrible display of journalism, the Ayesha Curry dress code controversy, and FLOTUS rapping about going to college.
Tis the season for Holiday Parties! So, we talk about the joys and pains of this traditional holiday activities, specifically with work folks. We wrap up the show with a gem of music gifted by Stevie Wonder and Andra Day, and a quote about peace.
That’s all we got! We are looking forward to next week’s show, the last of 2015…CRAZY!!!
Stuck in a Tunnel
**Disclaimer: This week’s episode sounds like we are stuck in a tunnel. “But why?”, we hear you asking…well it’s a long story but we’ll sum it up by saying, technology held us hostage this week and this is what barely escaping sounds like. We’ll be back to our usual (and probably better) quality next week.**
What up, ya’ll! The big thing to happen to Shells this week was a headache (but it was a beast), and Irene is trying to manage her addiction to Jordan’s and enjoying the Christmas shopping experience.
We’ve been light on Ellen the last couple of weeks..but we get all caught up this time. Sophia Vagara, Wanda Sykes, and Jamie Foxx were on this week and we have quite a bit to say about all of them. Not to mention, we’re throwing our name in the Ellen contest hat…but we haven’t won, yet.
This week in our Would You Rather dysfunction, we debate personal comfort versus social connection. So would you rather live without heating and air conditioner or without the internet? #FSGWYR
Around the water cooler, we talk about next weeks National Days to celebrate, Adele’s super stardom, and HovDay 2015.
Irene gives a cool rundown of the best moments and resurgent success of this year’s Soul Train Awards and then we ease on down the road to talk about the historic success of The Wiz Live! Naturally, these two major entertainment events is the perfect set up for both Irene’s Beats and Eye Spy Inspiration.
