Giggle Gang!!! We’re preparing for the live show, so we kept it relatively short this week- Relatively. It’s Irene’s birthday and Shells’ is gearing up for her trip to D.C.
Around the water cooler: Beyonce is good and pregnant…and dares anybody to try her. Facebook and other big corporations are tapping our phones-be mindful folks. Agent Orange cuts First Lady Obama’s signature programs. ESPN fires over 100 employees. Netflix’s Dear White People series is awesome. And The Real Housewives of Atlanta are on some other shit. All this and more on this week’s episode!
We are less than 2 weeks from our first FSGLive Show and Official Afterparty! Can’t wait to kick it in the District with you Good People!
Irene just got back from another dope Springcoming; and Shells participated in the March for Science in Chicago this weekend.
No #WYR, but this week’s word of the day is “perfidious”… #elevateyourwordgame.
Then to the watercooler…
Obama makes his first formal appearance since leaving the Oval, without a tie; United Airlines can’t handle leggings, overbooked flights or giant bunnies; a California judge has overruled 45’s planned penalty for sanctuary cities; Beyoncé has announced a scholarship fund; And then we spend some time talking about the recent backlash toward Shea Moisture regarding their diversity ad.
Finally, we wrap up the show with a throwback song with all the feels in Irene’s Beats, and an Eye Spy Inspiration about having vision and letting it be your guide.
That’s a wrap for today… but we’ll see ya’ll soon!
What’s up, Giggle Gang! We are less than 20 days away from FSGLive…and it’s official, both your hosts will be in the flesh! 🙂 Get your tickets, book your flights, get your life… you still have time!
We get caught up on Shells’ random acts of kindness (an apparent trustworthy presence) for the week; and Irene’s Easter weekend activities and the highlight of her week: The new Whole Foods. Shout out to @HBCUSpringcoming for the festivities this weekend. We’re so proud of Lauren & George!
Would You Rather (#FSGWYR) started out as a question of what your lesser fear is… and then quickly morphed into a conversation about Survivor. (typical FSG sh*t, shrugs).
Then we get into some water cooler conversation about Agent Orange’s crazy ass, the Easter Day murder of Mr. Godwin and the debate about mental illness; former NFL football player Alex Hernandez reportedly committed suicide and reactions to the news are conflicted; Serena Williams is adding motherhood to her resume; and we talk about the news that LaLa and Carmelo Anthony are getting divorce; and then theres Tyrese’s crazy comments about “aggressively promiscuous women”.
Finally, we wrap up the show with new music from Kendrick Lamar in Irene’s Beats and Shells’ Eye Spy Inspiration about being a blessing to others.
That’s all for this week. We love ya’ll and can’t wait to kick it with you in DC!
It’s a new week, Giggle Gang!!! We’re gonna keep the description short and let y’all enjoy the show! After Irene and Shells get past their behind the scenes shenanigans (caused by Shelley, of course) we get into pretty interesting conversations about Janet Jackson and her divorce settlement, and the ridiculousness that is the literal dragging of a paid customer from a United Airlines flight. All this and more!
That’s all we got this week! Don’t forget to get those tickets for FSGLive. And in the meantime, listen, laugh, share!
**In perfect harmony** Do you know what today is??? It’s our anniversary! 2 years of FSGeeeee!
Giggle Gang, you’ve been riding with us for TWO YEARS and we thank you! We hope that you’ve heard our growth and that you are as excited about what’s to come as we are!
No #WYR thus week, but Shells is sharing a new vocabulary word. Take out your pens everyone. Then we get to our Water Cooler Notes because there’s plenty to talk about. We discuss Romo retiring, water safety as summer pools begin to open, Black television is still super LIT, the increasing number of brick and mortar retailers that are going under, an Ivy League bound Rockaway teen, and then we share our reactions to the Pepsi “social awareness” (or lack thereof) ad starring Kendall Jenner.
We wrap up the show with some young Usher and an eye spy inspiration about closing old doors to make way for new ones.
Don’t forget FSGLive is coming on May 6th… get those tickets! And continue to Listen – Laugh – Share!
Giggle Gang, what’s poppin’?! It’s a new week and a new episode.
While Irene has been balancing recovery and reality from her Spring Break, Shells has been road tripping with her crew to Myrtle Beach for some Spring Breakin’ of her own!
In would you rather silliness… Our #FSGWYR this week: would you rather have to use Blue Magic or Pink Oil moisturizer every day forever? Hit us up at @FSGPodcast on IG, FB, and Twitter with your answer.
Around the water cooler, we acknowledge April Ryan’s #blackwomenatwork moment; Maxine Waters continues to give us the ultimate lesson on Giving Zero Fcks about 45’s entire existence, #TrumpCare/#RyanCare managed to fail in a Republican led government; the Oakland Raiders are leaving the Bay; and the truth, lies, and bigger issue about the black girls that have gone missing in DC. #FindOurGirls #DCGirls
Finally, we wrap up the show with things inspired by Shells’ vacation. Irene has “Caroline” in her Beats and Eye Spy is a quote from Christina Yang from Grey’s Anatomy.
That’s all for now. Shells is headed to the beach… while Irene had to get back to work (womp). We’ll be back next week. Get those tickets for FSGLive and listen laugh share!
What’s up Giggle Gang. We’re back at it and this week, we are giving ya’ll an action packed-time-conscious show. 🙂
So, Shells has been scared as hell this week because thunder and lightning are frightening AF; meanwhile, Irene has been cool as a fan, kicking it with the homies and gearing up for Spring Shenanigans.
Shout out to our girl, Danielle, for the suggestion on this week’s #FSGWYR. Chapped lips or Ashy Hands? What’s the lesser of these two evils. Talk Back #FSGWYR @FSGPodcast
Then we spend the show around the water cooler… We’re talking about the foolish remarks from Ben Carson; Ice Cube ran a t-shirt campaign to raise money for Autism Speaks; The turn up of 2017’s Women’s History Month, 2 African-American Female Pilots controlled a Delta cockpit and made history; Wiki Leaks and the CIA; and finally the Remy Ma/Nicki Minaj battle rap has turned into shadow boxing .
Then we close this thing out as we normally, do… Irene is an advocate of good music, new music, and dope creatives…and that’s evident by What’s in her Beats this week. And while we’re acknowledging dope creatives, one of our sorority sisters and a true light to the world made a Facebook post that is Shells’ Eye Spy Inspiration!
That’s all for now and we’ll be back in TWO weeks! That should give you enough time to catch up on old episodes, share the show with some folks, and make arrangements for FSGLive on May 6.
Irene has been on her usual cool living spree and Shells (and her entire household) has been recovering from a wicked cold bug. So, we’re just winging it this week…
White Nonsense returns this episode because apparently, Jay-Z got mad baby mamas. Speaking of Jay-Z, he’s being inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame. Irene’s checked out The Evolution of Hip Hop, and it’s a must see for all music heads or lovers of Hip Hop. We’re talking about Chance the Rapper and how “independant” he really is; then we discuss the complexity of the Grammys…Beyonce, Adele, album of the year, song of the year, and acceptance speeches.
The first family of Black Music is in Irene’s Beats and Eye Spy Inspiration is about giving people their roses when they are enjoy them. That’s all we got this week.
Don’t forget to get your houses in order for FSGLive! Join us for our first live show on May 6th in DC!! Tickets available at HERE!
