FAMU HC15 Recap

Well, we survived FAMU’s 2015 Homecoming and we’re back to tell you all about it …. and other things, of course!

In the world of Ellen, we are excited about Oprah on Ellen and then Ellen on OWN: Ellen’s Master Class. We’re really looking forward to hearing her share some of the teachable moments that shaped her! We also discuss a blog post that is clearly a misuse of our girl’s name for clicks…and Irene is mad.

In a knod to Shells’ son, this week’s Would You Rather question is about which superhero, Batman or SpiderMan, you’d rather be? #FSGWYR @fsgpodcast

This week, we are renaming “Water Cooler News” to “A Week in the Pop Culture Mind of Irene”. There’s Out in Hip Hop, the TIDAL concert, Meek Mill, Hotline Bling, Back 2 the Future, and Undisclosed. And in true Shelley randomness, there’s a little addition about cheese addiction.

Then we get into the recap of FAMU’s Homecoming. There was so much goodness over the weekend and it was amazing for both of us to return to The Hill. One of the best moments was Convocation, which included the inspiring  speech by Angela Robinson (aka: Veronica Harrington from Tyler Perry’s Haves & The Have Nots), and the band that always gets you back into that FAMU spirit- The 100!

What’s in Irene’s Beats this week is a direct extension of the FAMU experience, and an Angela Robinson quote is our Eye Spy Inspiration this week. It was an exciting week… and we sound like it! lol.

Hope you enjoy the show…and remember to Listen – Laugh – and Share!

We’ll be back next week.
