An Intro to White Nonsense
Welcome Back! Last week, Shells got to unwind in the city and had a blast. Back in the District, Irene had entertainment overload complements of Straight Outta Compton and Wonderland!
We’re super excited about Ellen’s line with The Gap being available! And we share this week’s #YoureWelcomeWednesday & #ClassicJokeFriday. Ellen’s new season premiers in early September and the first week guests will include Hillary Clinton, Caitlyn Jenner, and 2014 Nobel Peace Prize winner-Malala Yousafzai.
This week’s Would You Rather tests your social skills, kinda. Would You Rather be stuck on an island alone or with someone who talks incessantly? Of course, Irene has some clarifying questions and we want to hear your preference. #FSGWYR @FSGPodcast
This week’s Water Cooler News: Bag checks at Regal Cinemas, the passing of civil rights activist Julian Bond, presidential candidate: Deez Nuts, the disgusting hyprocracy of Josh Duggar & Subway Jared. Then Irene gives her Straight Outta Compton review and Shells gets you ready for next week’s National Day of _______ and a random fact!
We introduce a new, occasional segment that we’re calling “White Nonsense” that will celebrate the difference between black and white folk and make light of some of the quirky and crazy conversations that come about. Thanks to Irene’s first white friend and the fancy Louisiana Kitchen.
Irene’s Beats have a Cheerleader this week & Shells found a new motivating writer whose quote speaks to being kind to yourself and persevering.
See you in two weeks … We’re headed out of the country for a little vacation, charge it to our lives. 🙂

Orange Juice & Abandonment
Wellllll… it looks like ya’ll keep coming back for what we’re giving, and we’re glad about it.
Ellen is still in reruns, but she’s coming back to an all new season on September 8th. We can not wait!
Irene had another wonderful summer weekend and Shells has been up to nothing. Irene may or may not have attended a top secret event and Shells is looking forward to an upcoming Windy City wedding.
When it comes to controlling your life, would you rather have a rewind button or a pause button? This one made us think! What would you rather? Let us know @FSGPodcast #FSGWYR
Need some news around the water cooler? Here are some highlights (or lowlights) week:
▪The court rendering of Tom Brady made national news because the court artist didn’t make him a pretty as he is.
▪Hillary has to say goodbye to her private emails…after months of drama.
▪Geno Smith has a broken jaw complements of his (now former) teammate. Listen, it’s all about principle.
▪It’s a weak week for National Day-of celebrations, but if you need something, there is National I LOVE Feet day & National Thrift Shop Day on Monday, Aug 17th and National Mail Order Day August 18th.
▪…and then Beyonce graced the cover of the September issue of Vogue Magazine. Queen Bey!!!!
Plug of the Week! Writer/Director/Editor- Shayla Racquel, native of Columbia, SC and FAMU grad.
Diagnosed with Sickle Cell Disease at birth and having a stroke at the young age of 12, her childhood battle with the disease is what brought her closer to the art of storytelling. Writing, creating, and watching ideas come to life served as a getaway from her struggle with the disease, filling her with euphoria through the pain. She began to explore and hone her craft during her collegiate years at Florida A&M University by directing and editing numerous videos for businesses and organizations around the Tallahassee community.
Since then, Shayla has gone on to write/produce/and direct the YouTube webseries, Quarter Century and recently debuted her first short film- Life’s Checklist. There are currently two seasons of Quarter Century, the first featuring DC’s vibrant culture, while the second season showcases the liveliness of young black adults in New York. She uses the series to support and promote Black owned businesses, indie music artists, and up and coming fashion designers.

Let’s Talk About It: Orange Juice & Abandonment
There has been a lot of chatter about whether or not if it’s appropriate to address and/or discipline other people’s children. So we’re talking about it, as a single woman and a mother of two … this should be interesting!
This trailblazing songstress is changing the game. And she’s introducing her talented and futuristic crew to the world! The new and riveting music of today’s civil rights movement is in Irene’s Beats this week-Thanks Wondaland. Eye Spy Inspiration is dedicated to all of our listeners who are trying to balance hope with acceptance.
That’s it for this week.
Listen. Laugh. And share!!
See y’all in the future!

The Cool Episode
Welcome to The Cool Episode, good people.
Last week, while traveling Shells learned that you can, in fact, fly without any identification. Meanwhile, Irene fell in love with the Windy City, made a couple of new white friends, and prepares for ANOTHER HavPlenty Brunch.
Shells (in her infinite corniness) shares a few #ClassicJokeFriday funnies. While Irene shares Ellen’s praises about Amy Schumer’s speech on control, following the Louisiana theatre shooting.
It’s about basics this week in our Would You Rather conversation. What’s more important to you: Your Elbows or Your Knees? Which would you rather be without? Let us know @FSGPodcast #FSGWYR
In this week’s Water Cooler News, there is a recap of the Republican Debate, the increase in voter restriction laws, Obama going green, a Drake/Meek Mills update. Be sure to celebrate National Smores and/or Lazy Day on August 10 and National Presidential Joke Day on August 11.

Irene & Shells

Aubrey Ain’t Playin Fair
It’s another FSG Week and here’s the rundown: Shells got a few days away from the family and ate up ALL of the Sweetie Pies soul food she could hold. While Irene is getting ready for her first taste of Summertime Chi.
Ellen’s Motivation Monday is inspiring and entertaining…that’s so Ellen! Then we entertain ourselves with this Would You Rather speak like Yoda or breath like Darth Vader. @fsgpodcast #FSGWYR
Around the water cooler, there is chatter about the Dentist and the Lion, Tom Brady’s punishment for Deflategate, the return of The Wiz, and then we spend some time on this lop-sided Meek Mill versus Drake tension.
Aubrey’s recent antics earned him a spot in Irene’s beats and simple post on a friend’s FB page set Shells up for Eye Spy Inspiration.
